Remember that when you create your own home made fertilizer, it’s important to choose ingredients which feature potassium, nitrogen or phosphorous. All of which will help you plants grow and thrive.

Grass clipping:

Every time you mow your lawn collect your grass clippings in order to fertilize your garden.

Weeds:

You may be surprised to learn that weeds contain high doses of nitrogen which makes weeds an ideal ingredient for home made fertilizer.

Food scraps

Compost makes a great natural fertilizer. So it’s a great idea to place your food scraps and leftovers into a compost bin.

Animal manure:

You may want to acquire horse manure to use as a fertilizer as it’s packed full of nitrogen and nutrients which will help you plants thrive.

Leaves:

When you rake up fallen leaves in your garden, make sure to mix them into your soil to release nutrients into your soil.

Coffee grounds:

Cooking water:

It’s also a great idea to tip your leftover cooking water into your soil. As an example, if you have water leftover from boiling vegetables, this water can be used as fertilizer as it will be full of essential nutrients.

Green tea:

Use one tea bag to a gallon of water to water your soil. However, be careful to only use green tea infused water to infuse your soil once every three weeks. As green tea can be quite strong.
