Simple Summer Mantle Ideas:

Display bright flowers in decorative vases:

For example, if you’re lucky enough to have a garden you may want to cut seasonal flowers from your garden to display in a decorative vase on your summer mantle. Some flowers which evoke summer include sunflowers, begonias and petunias. If you love symmetry when it comes to interior design you may want to place two vases of flowers on your mantle.

Nautical decorations:

Another way to bring a sense of summer to your home is to decorate your mantle with nautical decorations. Such as sail boats, lighthouses, seashells, starfish or anchors. As guests who see your mantle will instantly remember their favorite summers at the seaside.

Scented candles:

As fragrance can instantly remind you of long, hot summers, it’s a great idea to include at least one scented candle on your summer mantle. Just be sure to select a fragrance which reminds you of summer. Some examples of which include lemon scented candles and candles which smell like a tropical beach. If in doubt you can’t go wrong opting for a fragrant pineapple scented candle. If you’re looking for a unique way to display your candle you may want to place your chosen candle in a simple, white lantern.

Family photos:

It’s a great idea to frame family photos of some of your favorite summer memories. For example, you may want to frame a photo of your family vacationing at a picturesque beach or of a road trip which you shared with friends. You can even opt to frame your chosen photos in nautical themed photo frames which feature pretty shells, to further evoke a sense of summer.

Yellow and blue accents:

When picking a color scheme you can’t go wrong opting for yellow and blue accents. As both colors are associated with long summer days, blue skies and sunshine. As well as the beach and golden sand. Some ways to incorporate yellow and blue accents into your mantle include picking blue or yellow candles, flowers or photo frames.

Place a tropical pot plant at the base of your summer mantle:

If you’re looking to create a stylish tropical atmosphere, simply purchase a tropical pot plant which you can place at the base of your summer mantle.

Place a few books which are set during summer on your summer mantle:

For a novel idea, collect a few books which are set during the summer on your mantle. Which your friends and family members will be able to borrow and read during a long summer’s day.
